List of Ireland ODI cricketers

Since their first match in 2006, 48 players have represented Ireland in One Day Internationals (ODIs).〔 Retrieved on 17 October 2010.〕 A One Day International is an international cricket match between two representative teams, each having ODI status, as determined by the International Cricket Council (ICC). An ODI differs from Test matches in that the number of overs per team is limited, and that each team has only one innings. Where more than one player won his first ODI cap in the same match, those players are listed alphabetically by surname.
Ireland have played 96 ODIs, resulting in 44 victories, 44 defeats, 5 no results, and 3 ties.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Ireland Playing Record in ODI Matches )〕 Ireland played their maiden ODI on 13 June 2006 against England.〔 Retrieved on 3 November 2008.〕 Ireland lost by 38 runs, although the match drew interest and was played in front a full capacity crowd at the Civil Service Cricket Club in Belfast.〔 Retrieved on 3 November 2008.〕 By reaching the final of the 2005 ICC Trophy,〔 Retrieved on 3 November 2008.〕 Ireland qualified for the 2007 World Cup, where they progressed to the super eights by beating Pakistan and made a tie against Zimbabwe – In the second round-robin stage of the tournament – managed victory against Bangladesh . Ireland's performance, which took pundits by surprise, propelled them to 10th place in the ICC ODI rankings, ahead of Zimbabwe and Kenya.〔 Retrieved on 3 November 2008.〕〔 Retrieved on 3 November 2008.〕 Ireland is one of two associate nations to be part of the rankings; associates are the next level of team below those that play Test cricket.〔
Irish cricket has experienced a migration of some of its players to the English county cricket system, where teams representing 18 of the traditional counties of England compete. Players such as Ed Joyce – who has played ODI cricket for England – have left Ireland to take up cricket as a profession in England, something that is not possible in Ireland as there is no professional infrastructure. On occasion, some of Ireland's players – notably captain William Porterfield (Gloucestershire), batsman Eoin Morgan (Middlesex), wicket-keeper Niall O'Brien (Northamptonshire), and bowler Boyd Rankin (Warwickshire) – have been unavailable to play due to commitments to their county side, weakening the national side. Some players, such as Morgan, went on to qualify for England.〔 Retrieved on 3 November 2008.〕 Ireland, having won a hat-trick of ICC Intercontinental Cup titles since 2005,〔 Retrieved on 3 November 2008.〕 have been labelled the "leading associate".〔 Retrieved on 3 November 2008.〕
Jeremy Bray scored Ireland's first ODI century on 30 January 2007 in a match against Scotland. Bray later scored Ireland's maiden World Cup century when he struck 115 not out against Zimbabwe on 15 March 2007. The highest score in ODIs for Ireland is 177, scored by Paul Stirling against Canada on 7 September 2010.〔 Retrieved on 17 October 2010.〕 The record for best bowling figures in an innings for Ireland in ODIs belongs to Trent Johnston, who took 5/14 against Canada on 19 April 2009.〔 Retrieved on 2 September 2009.〕 William Porterfield is Ireland's leading run scorer with 2,412 runs and Kevin O'Brien is Ireland's leading wicket-taker with 74 wickets.
